District Installation at Cupertino 70

On the evening of Monday, January 19th, Cupertino Lodge hosted Mountain View Lodge, True Fellowship Lodge, Saratoga Lodge, Philotesian Rebekah Lodge, and Clara Rebekah Lodge for a Dinner Installation lead by Grand Warden Adam Potolsky, District Deputy President Debra LaVergne, and District Deputy Grand Marshall Izzy Mahon. This was the largest Joint Installation for Odd Fellows District 107 and Rebekah District 3 in recent memory.

To maintain some semblance of order, all of the elected officers from each lodge were seated together by office. So there was a secretaries table, treasurers, noble grands, etc. In addition to making it easier for the installing team, this gave a great opportunity for those members to talk to their counterparts at the other lodges. What secrets of the trade must they have shared that night?

After an excellent meal was concluded, each elected officer took the oath of installation, followed by their individual charges for each office. Then it was time to do the appointments, which was (unavoidably) somewhat less organized, as the various appointed officers were seated all around the room (and quite a few people were doing duty at multiple lodges). Perhaps the busiest person in the room that night, judging by the number of offices she took, was DDP Debra LaVergne herself, who serves as secretary for both Rebekah lodges, and chaplain of Mountain View 244. And while she wasn’t installed at that particular dinner, she’s also the incoming Noble Grand for Bay View 109!

We sincerely hope that the inter-lodge connections formed that evening continue to build and bind our lodges together.

Congratulations to all the new Noble Grands and other officers!
