Have you ever wanted to try Irish Ceili dancing? Ceili is one of the three major forms of Irish dancing. It’s done in sets like Contra or English Country dance, but has the high-energy music of Ireland.
Join us for a rare South Bay Ceili at the Odd Fellows to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Skip the green beer in favor of dancing with friends like the Irish do it! We’ll start the evening off with a few basic moves, and be teaching dances for everyone all night long. The Irish also love a good waltz. Depending on how many experienced dancers join us, we’ll also do some dances for those who have previously memorized them. That means most beginners will be able to do at least 2/3s of the dances, and will get a chance for a quick break and to see the fun that can be had when you learn some more complex choreography.
If you’ve never tried it, that’s okay! If you can walk, you can do this dance!
